SPORTS AND Games FC Santa Rosa and Defence Force battled to a 2-2 draw on Sunday, in a topof- the-table showdown, as Match Day 21 action in the National Super League Premiership Division took place.
Santa Rosa remained atop the standings with 42 points, three more than the Army-Coast Guard combination.
Defence Force, buoyed by their home fans at the Defence Force headquarters, held a 2-0 halftime lead with goals from Akil Morris, in the 39th minute, and former Trinidad and Tobago defender Keston Williams, three minutes later.
But Santa Rosa rallied in the second half to earn a share of the points. Kevon Cornwall halved the deficit in the 62nd minute and the consistent Keron Clarke struck in the 79th for the visitors. Club Sando Moruga jumped one spot to third after a 2-1 win over Matura ReUnited at the Grand Chemin Recreation Ground. Also, Police slipped to fourth spot after they drew their encounter 2-2 against Siparia Spurs at the St James Barracks; Guaya United registered a come-from-behind 3-1 victory over cellar- placed Marabella Family Crisis Centre at Guaracara Park; 1976 FC Phoenix held off a late charge from Bethel United to prevail 3-2; Queen’s Park and Petrotrin Palo Seco fought to a 2-2 draw in St Clair
