Arima Walk for Peace, organized by FC Santa Rosa, is steadily gaining support from a broad cross-section of Arima. Since it was announced and advertised on social media, the number of community organizations and individuals rallying to the Walk is steadily growing.
Arima Walk For Peace is a non-political action. It is intended to rally Arima people to speak with ONE voice against all violence -
domestic and sexual, bullying, gender, and murder. Participation in Arima Walk for Peace is open to all, irrespective of political and/or religious persuasion, age group or gender.
The following organizations have now indicated their intention to participate in the Walk:
- Arima Angel Harps Steel Orchestra
- Arkadians FC (Calvary)
- Arima All Stars Youth Football Academy (Mausica)
- Arima Boys' RC School
- Arima North Secondary School
- Family Soccer FC (Bourg Mulatresse)
- La Horquetta Pan Groove
- Malabar Young Stars FC
- Marsicans Steel Orchestra (Mausica)
- MiLAT Academy
- Nettoville Carolers
- Pinto Sports Club (Pinto Road)
- Semi-Pro FC (Tumpuna Road/Malabar)
- TTAYSO (Malabar)
- We Connection FC (Arima Proper)
Members of the Santa Rosa Parish were advised of the Walk at Sunday Mass, and a letter has been delivered to all Arima schools. Arima Wheelers Cycling Club and Creek FC have been approached to join the Walk, and Soca singers Skatie and Rome ( a member of the Rosa Nation) have pledged to also join in. Importantly, the Mayor of Arima and the Borough Council are actively supporting the Walk and will also participate.
