Defence Force and House of Dread have earned promotion to the Sportworld Super League next season, after they finished first and second respectively in the Champion of Champions competition last weekend.

Facing House of Dread in round five, the Army/Coast Guard unit were held 1-1.

Kenywn Baptiste cancelled Defence Force's 1-0 halftime advantage with a 56th minute strike, after Curtis Thomas put Defence Force ahead in the fourth minute.

Defence Force ended on 11 points, level with House of Dread, but one goal better. They will replace MediaNet 21, Harvard, Tobago team Stokely Vale and Maraval Youth Academy, as the Super League is being reduced to ten teams next season.

And Mayaro United whipped Rattansingh Tyre Phase 4 Nationals 5-2. Carlon Hughes had a double with strikes in the 67th and 73rd minutes, while Andy Hagley (21st), Kevin Jagdeosingh (35th) and Jody Allsop (76th) also found the net for Mayaro.

Nationals got their goals from Glenwell John (52nd, 83rd).

In the other Champion of Champions contest, Charlotteville Unifiers were thrashed 6-0 by Petrotrin PAP, thanks to a beaver trick from Nigel Hart.

Hart pierced Unifiers net in the fifth, 35th, 54th and 90th minutes, while the other goals came from Colin Joseph and Atiba Forde.
