Aftershocks of the CLICO fallout has extended to the National Super League as the Management of East West Coaching School made a difficult decision to opt out of the competition. East West, who has been struggling in the standings, finishing thirteenth after the first round, are now unable to field a team as they have not been able to meet their financial commitments to their players. These commitments were upheld by the strong financial backing of CL Financial.
This was their first year participating in the league, gaining entry as winners of the East Zone last year as well as placing second in the Champion of Champion playoffs.
Twelve teams remain going into the second round of competition which kicks off on Sunday 6th September.
