St. Francois Nationals pulled off the biggest upset of the tournament with a 1-0 win over front-runner, bmobile Joe Public, as play in the bmobile National Super League continued with match day 14 fixtures yesterday.

After a goalless first half, St Francois Nationals broke the deadlock, stunning the homesters, with a 71st minute strike from Mark Borde, which proved to be the match winner at the Marvin Lee Stadium.

Their nearest rivals, T&TEC, reduced the lead to just four points, after hammering the struggling Harlem Strikers 5-0 in their encounter at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella. Brent Garcia led the goal spree with a double in the second and 53rd minutes, while Anthony Noriega in the 5th, Tigana Sparks in the 83rd and Jamal Ayres 90th, accounted for the other goals. The “Electricity Boys” now have 30 points with ten wins from their 14 matches. Over at Defence Force headquarters, Chaguaramas, M&M Harvard came from behind to edge the soldiers 2-1.
