T&TEC powered themselves to within two points of the bmobile National Super League with a 1-0 win over 1976 FC Phoenix Sports Club, and a little help from Defence Force last week.

The Army Men stubbornly held leaders bmobile Joe Public to a 2-2 at the Marvin Lee Stadium, Macoya-the proud hunting ground of the "Eastern Lions"-with a 90th minute goal from Devon Lewis.

Joe Public took the lead through Michael Waldron in the 19th minute, and enjoyed a 1-0 lead at the break. It took Defence Force five minutes after the restart to equalise through Akil Pierre. That lead lasted all of seven minutes before Dexter Thornhill restored the home side's advantage, but Defence Force held on for the draw, literally at the very last minute.

T&TEC, meanwhile, stole all three points at Guaracara Park, Pointe-a-Pierre, Sylvester Teesdale burying the winner in the net in the 55th.

Other results saw Queen's Park Cricket Club, fifth in the standings, move to 25 points, the same as M&M Harvard (third) and Phoenix, with just three goals separating the teams. Queen's Park beat Harvard 2-0 with goals on either side of half-time. Club Sando also made light work of Harlem Strikers with a 3-1 win at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva, but WASA FC, champions in 2007, sit eighth in the table after drawing 3-3 with Carenage United. United equalised in the final minute of the match after leading 2-0 at the half.

WASA hit back with three goals in seven minutes, including a Nigel Hart (54th, 61st) double. But Tyronne Charles grabbed a point for Carenage with a 90th minute item.

The encounter between St Francois Nationals and Economy Strikers has been rescheduled for October 28.
