TTEC rebounded from last year’s loss to the now-defunct Economy Strikers to defeat Valtrin 5-3 and cop the bmobile National Super League Knockout competition on Sunday.
The fans at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva saw Valtrin, the 2010 newcomers, take a ninth minute lead through Dwight Crichlow but Sylvester Teesdale evened up the scores in the 18th.
Ex-national centre back Anthony Noreiga gave TTEC the go-ahead goal in the 20th while Bevon Bass widened the gap in the 36th.
Nathan Lewis reduced the deficit to 3-2, two minutes into the second-half, but Brent Garcia restored the two-goal lead in the 49th.
The game seemed beyond Valtrin’s reach when Bass got TTEC’s fifth in the 62nd, and it proved as such, despite a late item from Gorean Highley in the 89th.
Action in the League resumes tomorrow following a month-long break for the Knockout tournament.
