The in form Kevon Neaves and Jamal Ayres, netted a double each as T&TEC powered past M & M Harvard 4-0 in their (Match Day 21) encounter of the bmobile National Super League at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella, yesterday. This marked the “Electricity Boys” 12th win in 16 matches, which pushed them closer to capturing the league title, after it eluded them last season. In the first match of a double-header, the unbeaten T&TEC, got their opening goal from Neaves, his first in the 25th minute. Harvard, nevertheless, was able to prevent any more goals in the first half as the scoreline remained unchanged. However, the second half was more productive for the power company men as they were able to find the net three times. Neaves made it 2-0 in the 63rd minute to finish his double.

Ayres got into the action, netting his first in the 78th, before sealing the deal in the final minute of regulation time. T&TEC are now five points clear of their closest opponent WASA, with three more matches to go, and only need a draw in their next match against 1976 Phoenix to seal the title. They also have a match against Defence Force, before the Disciplinary Committee as the venue at the Defence Force Headquarters ground was said to be unfit. Meanwhile WASA’s hopes of challenging for the title went out the gate at the Marvin Lee Stadium, as they went down to defending champions bmobile Joe Public 1-0. The Water Boys needed a win to keep their hopes alive, however, Rashad Griffith brought it tumbling down, as he found the net in added on time in the first half. While Public has moved to 22 points, with four matches remaining, they do not stand a chance of retaining their title.
