MALABAR YOUNG Stars and Crown Trace FC both registered victories in the Under-16 Division on Saturday, at Constantine Park in Macoya.
Action was in the East Zone of the Republic Cup National Youth Football League.
Malabar Young Stars brushed aside Mafeking United 4-0 while Crown Trace took care of FC Santa Rosa by a 3-0 scoreline .
Getting their names on the scoresheet for Malabar Young Stars were Jorel Grant (eighth minute), Jahmali Clarke (22nd), Brandon Bobb (37th) and Aliston Lewis (47th) .
Crown Trace were rewarded with goals from Kemuel Hagley (fifth), Jevaughn Humphrey (19th) and Johnathan Richards (48th) .
In the Under-14 Division, there were contrasting victories for FC Santa Rosa and San Juan Jabloteh, over Pinto United and Adrenaline FA respectively.
Santa Rosa got a pair from Mikel St Martin as they trounced Pinto United SC 5-1. St Martin struck in the 11th and 45th, while there were one apiece from Isaiah Richardson (38th), Nathaniel James (50th) and Keyel James (50th). Anthony Samuel (34th) was the goal-getter for Pinto United.
Kaihim Thomas scored in the 17th minute as Jabloteh edged Adrenaline FA 1-0.
In related news, Matura ReUnited have withdrawn from the competition and, as a result, their only match against Pinto United SC will now be considered null and void.
Malabar Young Stars were the only team to emerge victorious in the Under-12 Division.
Tayshaun Cummings (fifth), Ryan Castillo (33rd) and Jemaul Ashing (37th) were on target as they swept past Pinto United SC 3-0.
The other two games in the Under-12 category ended with 1-1 results.
Tyrell Stapleton put Jabloteh ahead against La Horquetta XF, in the 25th, but Jadon Clarke levelled the scores 10 minutes later. In the meeting between Trincity Nationals and Adrenaline FA, Jovonn Gomes scored in the ninth but Raul Garcia equalised in the 25th.
