Local footballing powerhouse CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh will be using the upcoming T&T Pro Bowl to redeem themselves—that’s the word coming from a number of Jabloteh players who are hurting, due to the stuttering start they have made to the 2005 season.

Jabloteh, have struggled with consistency so far this season, and they find themselves in 4th place in the league standings on 8 points from six games—they have won 2 games, drawn 2 and lost 2.

The San Juan based unit are 10 points shy of runaway leaders W Connection, and have a lot of work to do to make up lost ground.
However, the players are wounded and are determined now more than ever to fix things—and they plan to start the rebuilding process with the Pro Bowl Knockout Competition which kicks off Friday 13th May, 2005 at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium.

Skipper Angus Eve told ‘jabloteh.com’, “Yes we are hurting, we all believe in our hearts we are better than our performances suggest so far, we are determined to get it right and the Pro Bowl is a perfect opportunity to start the process,” said Eve.

The talented midfielder added, “While the start to the league has been unfortunate, we are convinced of our ability and we will be going all out, not just to do well in the Pro Bowl—but we are eager to win it.”

“Our opponents in the first round, Caledonia AIA Fire are a pretty decent team this year, when we met them in the league we drew 0-0, and they played a very defensive game—but this time its knockout football and the game will be much more open and that should suit our style—we are confident of getting the job done,” ended Eve.

Attacking midfielder Kerry Baptiste said, “Everyone is very excited and looking forward to the Pro Bowl, as this is a perfect opportunity to regain our Champion status, and we will be coming strong and playing harder than ever to win the Pro Bowl title.”

Another attacking midfielder, Aurtis Whittley, is also optimistic that Jabloteh will rebound, he told ‘jabloteh.com’, “We are more together as a team now, the new players have settled in and the chemistry is starting to flow again, we can only go up from here.”

Whittley confirmed, “All the players sat down and had an open talk about our performances so far in the league, everyone expressed themselves and we came out determined to get back to our winning ways—the Pro Bowl Tournament is an important one for us, we need to win it and prove to the country and our fans that we are still the best football team in the country.

Nigel Daniel also believes doing well in the Pro Bowl is of vital importance.

“We have failed to capitalize on some of the games we have played in the league so far and that’s why we are in this position now. The club has undergone some changes with new players and new coaches coming into the set-up, but we are adjusting and everybody is coming together.”

“Despite our position in the league—we are confident of our chances in the Pro Bowl—and we are desperate to get an early title attached to our name—it will do us a world of good for the rest of the season,” said Daniel.

Jabloteh clash with Caledonia AIA Fire in the quarter finals of the Pro Bowl on Friday 13th May at 9 P.M. the 3rd game of a triple header at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium.
