Icacos Government and Lower Cumuto Government booked their spots in the quarterfinal round of the Atlantic National Primary Schools football competition when they won their respective games yesterday. Cumuto whipped Enterprise 3-0 while Icacos sneaked past former champion Vos Government 2-1.

In the boys competition, San Fernando Boys blew away Chaguanas RC 3-0. Former national champions Carenage  went under in a hard fought encounter to Valencia South. The scores were tied 3-3 at full time but Valencia won 6-5 on penalty kicks.

Last Thursday at Dwight Yorke Stadium in Tobago, teams from the sister isle easily won their qualifiers. Former 10 times champions, Bon Accord beat Manzanilla Govt School by a 9-0 margin, while Pentecostal Light Light and Life whipped St Barb’s Government 4-0. Today, there will be four matches in Trinidad at three venues, Hasely Crawford Stadium, Manny Ramjohn Stadium and the Arima Velodrome.
