Trinidad and Tobago striker Devorn Jorsling believes that the “Soca Warriors” can be top contenders in Concacaf again and is urging his teammates to prove him right in Sunday’s friendly international against Finland at the Hasely Crawford Stadium from 5 pm on Sunday.

Jorsling was among the players who went through an intense session at the Ato Boldon Stadium yesterday. He is one of the more experienced players named in a final 20-man squad by coach Hutson Charles, who along with Under 23 head coach Angus Eve, is overseeing the team for Sunday’s friendly.

Tobago-born forward Keon Boucher of St Clair Coaching School, San Juan Jabloteh’s Willis Plaza, Under 23 trio Leslie Russell, Jean Luc Rochford, Aquil Selby and former national under 20 defender Curtis Gonzales are the newcomers. The experienced faces include Clyde Leon, goalkeeper Marvin Phillip, Kendall Jagdeosingh, Akeem Adams, Hayden Tinto, Seon Power and Ataullah Guerra.

Jorsling said Sunday’s encounter is a perfect opportunity to assess the talent available. “I think everyone is really looking forward to it. Not only because it’s the first match but players like myself are still anxious to get over the defeat to Guyana.

“The only way to do that is to  play international matches and get results. We simply have to keep playing and start winning matches and producing good football on the pitch,” said the former Orlando City forward.
