Slovakia-based striker Lester Peltier is eyeing a return to the national team for the finals of the Caribbean Cup in December. That is, of course, if this country progresses to the finals in Antigua from December 3.

T&T first has to finish among the top two teams in the semifinal round of qualifiers next month when they come up against Cuba, Suriname and St Vincent and the Grenadines.

Peltier is unlikely to feature in the semifinal phase as only November 14 is an official FIFA date which makes his release a difficult one for the three match days. However, his club will be on a winter break in December for the entire month, which means he will be available to T&T.

“I’m really hoping to be part of that finals once we get through. I think we have a great chance to qualify for the Gold Cup and even win the Caribbean Cup if all goes to plan. I’ve been hearing good things about the team and hopefully I can be part of it,” Peltier said.

The former Jabloteh player scored his fifth goal of the season for Slovan Bratislava in their 2-0 win over MFK Ruzomberok last week. “It was my second goal in as many games for Slovan. The competition is tough but I’m working hard and just trying to get better every game I play,” Peltier added.
