T&T Caribbean TeamToday the Soca Warriors Online (SWO) has decided to highlight some of T&T's brightest prospect in the football at present who are having a good run of form for either club, country or both.

With the Caribbean Cup Finals in Antigua set for a little less than two weeks away the SWO would like to also take this opportunity to showcase some of T&T's other inform players who can make a significant contribution as the Warriors go in search for Caribbean glory.

The Playlist;

Jan-Michael Williams – He has been an inspiration for both club and country. He has literally saved T&T many times from point blank range shots during its 2012 Caribbean Cup qualifying 1st round participation. Jan is also a main stay with W Connection and will lead them from the dressing room as they step onto the field to defend their Toyota Classic crown. Team captain for club and country, the 28 year-old keeper has managed to keep a clean sheet in his club's Toyota Classic opener with a 5-0 drumming of Super league team Defence Force. Williams has 43 caps for his country and has allowed only two goals in his last six games for the Soca Warriors.

Seon Power – He is one of T&T's most improved defenders for 2012. Seon scored his second international goal against Suriname in a 2012 Caribbean Cup Qualifier and, his second since 2008 in 35 games. He was also adjudged by many SWO fans as T&T's player of the tournament during the first round Caribbean Cup games in Tobago. Power is also one of his Club's main members and can get forward and score goals too. His never die attitude is also a welcoming sight for the Warriors.

Carlyle Mitchell - Despite not being a regular for his club Vancouver Whitecaps, Mitchell displays great technical abilities and calmness on the pitch.  The once striker now converted to central defender can also get forward and score goals from set plays, particularly headers and one can only sense that his first international goal is a game away. Carlyle has been capped  10 times for the Warriors.

Jlloyd Samuel - Rated in the top 5 defenders in Iran, Samuel now plies his trade with Iranian giant Esteghlal Tehran FC. The talented left-back who has made 83 appearances for his former club Bolton Wanderers only has two caps for his country and last played for the Soca Warriors in 2009 under then coach T&T legend Russell Latapy. Samuel seems to be taking his game up another level though; just recently he has managed to score back to back goals for his club against Naft Tehran and Gahar Zagros respectively. Samuel has been responsible for his team not conceding many goals this season and they currently occupy first place and look set on winning the 2012 Iranian League. Esteghlal FC, normally draws approximately 100,000 fans at their home ground in Tehran, Iran and Samuel is loving every minute of it.

Aubrey David - In February 2012- David made his debut for T&T in a friendly against Antigua and Barbuda, way before he chose to represent the country of his birth, Guyana. Despite suiting up twice for the South American outfit though, both games were not recognised as FIFA A games and kept David with the open option of representing the country he grew up in and played for since his childhood days at Vessigny Government Secondary. He also represented  T&T at the  Under 17 and Under 20 level respectively. David, 22, has had some measure of experience with Guyana, but was mainly on the bench during their 2014 World Cup adventure. He has also played in the Concacaf Champions League for Caledonia AIA. David’s recent form for T&T during its Caribbean Cup qualifiers has left many T&T fans wanting more. The utility player plays with heart and passion and despite not being one of the better defenders on the current T&T side, David possesses the attitude to be a top player in the near future. The former FC South End, T&TEC FC and Joe Public player has 3 caps and one solitary goal for the Warriors. Despite living most of his life in T&T, David also became the first Guyanese-born national to have played for Trinidad and Tobago.

Andre Boucaud - Anyone who has been following Trinidad and Tobago players aboard would know that Andre Boucaud is currently in a rich vein of form for his on-loan club Notts County and has been the talking point at the League One team. The hard-nose midfielder is currently in a tug-o-war between Luton Town and County who are nuts on keeping him on a permanent deal. It is yet to be determined however, whether Luton will let their star player go come January. The 28 year-old meanwhile has 6 caps for his country and last suited up for the Warriors in 2004 alongside some of T&T top players including; Jerren Nixon, Stern John, Brent Sancho, Cornell Glen, Shaka Hislop, Arnold Dwarika, Kelvin Jack and Dwight Yorke.  Even T&T’s current assistant coach Derek King rubbed shoulders with Boucaud on many occasions. Maybe some pleading from King and SWO’s efforts to keep him in the know resulted in Boucaud being called up for the Caribbean Cup. Unfortunately though, Notts County did not grant him permission to represent the Warriors in the December tournament.

Densill Theobald  - Theobald is a leader on the field who can pass the ball with deadly accuracy and is probably the best passer of the ball on current  T&T's team. He can also play as a deep lying midfielder as well as bridge the gap between defence and midfield effectively. Recently, Theobald has been a key player for both club and country.

Joevin Jones - There might be a tossup between Seon Power and Joevin Jones for T&T's most improved player. Though both have vastly improved over the years, the one thing that can give Jones the advantage is his youth. Jones has come from a family were football is in their genes. His father Kelvin Jones has played for T&T and was part of the infamous Strike Squad. His brother Alvin Jones is also regard to be one of the better defenders on the current T&T Under 20 side and now Joevin is destined to be one of T&T's top utility players. Jones is a main stay for his club W Connection and can play anywhere in the back, but he prefers the left-back position. T&T interim head coach Hutson Charles however seems to have found a home for the talented left-back in the midfield area. Jones can make accurate passes from any distance and isn't shy to take on defenders. He can also strike the ball with precision, which is a definite plus for the T&T side.

Lester Peltier – He has been described by former Canadian head coach T&T-born Stephen Hart as a special talent who can definitely go far with his God-given talent. Peltier can certainly turn it up on the right wing. His firer runs and his knack for scoring goals have also landed him a lucrative deal in Slovakia with ŠK Slovan Bratislava, and is surely their marquee player. The former San Juan Jabloteh standout last played for T&T against Canada in August 2012 and had to be replaced at the half because of a suspected muscle strain. Shortly after, Peltier announced that he wanted to focus on his club career a bit more and was more interested in returning to play for the national team for more important games and rightful so. Now that Peltier is back to full fitness and T&T has managed to make it to the Caribbean Cup finals Peltier’s service is much needed. Head coach Charles has already requested the talented midfielder who has also been having some good runs for his Club, despite not scoring freely like he did while at FK AS Trenčín. Peltier has 16 caps and five goals for his country, including a hat-trick against Barbados during T&T's 2014 World Cup campaign.

Hughtun Hector - If T&T are to have any success in its quest to win the 2012 Caribbean Cup title and at the same time qualify for the 2013 Concacaf Gold Cup then Hector is the key man to help them achieve this goal. The diminutive midfield maestro can certainly run through any Caribbean defence with his skill and flare. He can score goals from acute angles and has the canny ability to punish keepers if he catches them too far off their lines. Hector plays with technique and charisma and has already won the Vietnamese Super Cup winner's medal with Song Lam Nghe An. The former Vessigny Government Secondary and W Connection player carries 25 caps for his country and 7 goals to back that up.

Jamal Gay - Only an injury denied Jamal from playing in the 2nd round of the Caribbean Cup for T&T. The inform striker was leading goal scorer for his country in the 1st round of matches bagging 5-goals in two matches including a beaver-trick against Anguilla. With his goal scoring exploits Jamal was also instrumental in helping his club Caledonia AIA to win the 2012 FA Trophy, Lucozade Sport Goal, CFU Club Championship and the First Citizens Cup. The 6 foot 4 striker is not your regular forward who takes on defenders, however, he does has a knack for being in the right place at the right time and for a big player he always finds himself free with his constant runs at goal. Jamal plays with passion and his style of play is more akin to the Stern John’s, whereby he poaches in the box at the right moment. There are striker and finishers, and with an average of 7 goals in 13 matches Jamal is definitely on his way to becoming one of T&T's top finishers since the legendary Stern John.

Players on T&T's watchlist.

Willis Plaza – An exciting player to watch, the lanky striker has 5 caps and 4 goals for his country.

Daneil Cyrus – A tower in the back who is capable of neutralizing any arial attack with ease, the 21 year old Tobago-born W Connection player has already won 18 caps for his country and is currently on a trail with an unnamed Vietnamese club.

Khaleem Hyland – Is a main stay for his club K.R.C Genk and has been stabilizing their midfield especially in the Europa Cup.  Genk has already qualified for the next group stage (round of 32) in the new year for the very first time after topping their group and got the better of Videoton FC, Sporting Clube de Portugal and FC Basel 1893.

Cornell Glen - Glen is leading the charts as top goal scorer in the Pro League with 4 goals and seven in all competitions. It is uncertain whether or not the former MLS striker would get a call-up to the national team, as he has been in and out of selection for obvious reason.  The inform North East Stars striker definitely deserves a look at and with Jamal Gay on a suspected injury; Glen’s addition might be a positive, should Gay opt out of the next set of qualifiers. Glen’s pace and experience would be a welcoming asset to the T&T team, as these key ingredients are surely missing from our other strikers.

Keyon Edwards – Edward is a workhorse midfielder that never stops running, a headache for attackers and even though he is new to T&T’s set-up he brings a determination one cannot resist.

Robert Primus – Primus is a player who has been on the rise since graduating from T&T’s Under 20 team that qualified for Egypt.

Kern Cupid – Cupid is a quiet player who gets the job done. He has a wealth of experience with 25 caps and can play any wing-back position comfortably.

Keon Daniel – Daniel is technically gifted and capable of doing anything he wants with the ball at his feet when up to task. He is certainly a great addition to T&T’s squad, but his attitude and dedication are in question after refusing to answer the calls of his head coach for the recently concluded 2nd round of the Caribbean Cup. However, one can expect to see the Tobago-born midfielder re-emerge as T&T is short on talent of his kind.

Rundel Winchester - It is uncertain if Rundel is in any relation to W Connection starlet Shahdon, but Rundel is definitely a player to look out for.  He has the size and skills to take on defenders and score great goals, and was one of the reasons his club Stokely Vale eliminated Pro League teams Police FC and Caledonia AIA from the 2012 Toyota Classic competition. The Tobago-born talent also led his team to the 2011 Toyota Classic quarterfinals.
