Members of this country’s senior team will get the opportunity to train at the Argentina Football Association National Training Centre in Ezeiza ahead of the June 4 friendly international against Argentina.
This is the same state-of-the-art facility where Barcelona star Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero and the rest of the Argentina team trains for international matches.
The T&T team is also expected to be based at the live-in facilities at the Centre. Messi underwent tests and received treatment for a hamstring injury last December at the same venue.
The T&T team is likely to arrive there around June 1 ahead of the match in La Plata.
“It provides us with a good opportunity to train at what is the best training facility in Argentina and possibly one of the better and more advanced ones in South America,” T&T head coach Stephen Hart said.
“This is all part of the purpose of such a trip, not only to gain the much needed exposure in playing Argentina but also to utilise their facilities which I think will be good for our players.
Again the game promises to be nothing less than a difficult challenge for us because of the fact that the Argentines will be heading straight into the World Cup mere days later and will be in prime condition at that stage of their preparations.”
T&T will also play World Cup bound Iran in Sao Paolo on June 8.
