T&T captain Kenwyne Jones plans on spending the next few days away from the football pitch as he tries to put his legs up following the season in England with Cardiff City and with the national team for the Argentina and Iran matches.
Jones, speaking in Sao Paulo after the 2-0 loss to Iran, said he was fixed on ensuring he continues to enjoy the game wherever that may be.
“I’ll be having a little bit of rest and then gong back to work wherever the transfer window takes me,” Jones said.
There have been talks that Newcastle United and a couple other clubs have been eying the former Sunderland man.
“I don’t know as yet where that will be. But hopefully I’ll be moving forward and playing football and enjoying it.
“Generally I know that playing football is what I’m about and I’ll be looking to doing that on a regular basis. The period with the national team was a decent one. I think as a player I enjoyed it and we’ve seen some progress with the team which is always the most important team.
There is still some work to be done but this is an ongoing process which can only get better with time with more quality matches and preparations,” Jones said.
