Trinidad and Tobago’s men’s senior national football team, the Soca Warriors, have moved a further two spots up the FIFA world rankings to 54th th position, and is now also the fifth top ranked team in the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) region.

Ahead of Trinidad & Tobago in the region are Mexico, ranked #26 in the world, the United States (#28), Costa Rica (#29) and the highest ranked Caribbean team Jamaica (#52) which also moved up three spots in the latest ranking published on Thursday.

The latest football world-rankings see further progress for the top two Caribbean teams following positive showings at July’s CONCACAF Gold Cup. Quarter-finalist Trinidad and Tobago moved up 10 spots since a #64 ranking in August, while Gold Cup beaten finalist Jamaica have also move up six places during that period. The latest ranking sees Trinidad and Tobago one spot adrift of Nigeria, but ahead of Paraguay (#55), Panama (#59) and Bolivia (#67).
