Luton Town's Trinidad & Tobago international Carlos Edwards took time out from training this week to reflect on his country's draw for the World Cup finals in the summer, a draw that could see the Hatters midfielder appear against England, not that he is taking anything for granted at the moment as Luton remains his main focus.
"Our job is not finished just by qualifying," the former Wrexham man told http://www.hattersworld.co.uk. "We have three matches to play and hopefully those games will extend into more matches if we do qualify through the group stages.
"If I am involved in will be an honour to be on the same pitches as players like David Beckham, Steven Gerrard and Wayne Rooney. I am thrilled and excited that I can learn a few things from playing against these players.
"It would be great to get the better of players like that but when that time comes we will see.
"I don't think there is an advantage for me playing in this country and knowing about the England players, when we go out on the pitch it is eleven versus eleven. You just have to get the better of the opponent that you are up against in your position. If that is possible and everyone is on top of their game then you never know, football is a funny game - you can win or lose a match in a split second.
"We will only have one focus in mind, to go there and do as well as possible, we will work as a team and try and get a result."
