Eve picks Molino, Griffith III in provisional squad.

Newly appointed T&T men's senior team coach Angus Eve has selected a 60-man provisional squad that sees the return of Columbus Crew midfielder Kevin Molino.

The talented 31-year-old attacking midfielder has been out for the past two months with a niggling hamstring injury but he had been planning his return to the team for the past weeks.

Molino has very little time to find form as T&T faces a tricky Montserrat, whose rise to 180th on the FIFA ranking was due to gutsiness in both attack and defence, as seen against Central Americans El Salvador in the Nations Cup recently.

That game will be on July 2 in the USA and only a win will afford the Soca Warriors the right to advance to the next round of the qualifiers where a match-up with either Cuba or French Guiana awaits them on July 6.

Eve told the media at a virtual press conference on Monday that he will give everything he has to give the country some hope, following the failed attempt to qualify for the FIFA World Cup, as the team finished second in a group comprising St Kitts & Nevis, Bahamas, Guyana and Puerto Rico when it was expected that they would have emerged.

With 13 days to go before the Montserrat match, Eve faces a possible retrial of all the players, coupled with the establishment of a system of play. Right-back Jesse Williams was one of the local bright sparks in the Fenwick team and was again called by Eve, alongside Judah Garcia, Akim Andrews, Che Benny, the man who scored the wonder-goal for T&T at the recent Futsal qualifiers, Isaiah Lee, Justin Sadoo and Gary Griffith III, the son of Commissioner of Police Gary Griffith, who has been put in the unfortunate position of having to shake off the negativity of the recent past and focus on sealing a place in the team.

Williams (Jesse) who made his debut in the country's 2-0 win over St Kitts & Nevis in the Dominican Republic on June 8, told the media he wants to make a difference in the communities and in the nation as a whole.

A devout Christian, Williams said he believes he can make a significant difference in the environment using football, but he will first have to make that change when the country faces Montserrat in two weeks time.
