LEO BEENHAKKER, Trinidad and Tobago's Dutch national coach, will name his squad for the 2006 World Cup today.

Despite being given until May 15 by FIFA to name his team, Beenhakker's 23 for the World Cup are expected to be announced at a press conference at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

Beenhakker is in Trinidad ahead of the May 10 international friendly match between the T&T Soca Warriors and Peru at the Hasely Crawford Stadium. Beenhakker's team is expected to vary little from the 23 that qualified for the World Cup after a 1-0 playoff victory in Bahrain on November 16.

Dundee winger Collin Samuel broke into the squad and might well be in the Dutchman's plan to fill the troublesome left midfield position.

Samuel may just get the nod from the Dutchman after a good showing in a 2-0 victory over Iceland on February 28 in London. Like Samuel, young Kevon Neaves may also be considered for the position on the left. Beenhakker's only other new option is goalkeeper Tony Warner, although it has been argued that the Soca Warriors already have three competent goalkeepers in Clayton Ince, Shaka Hislop and Kelvin Jack.

Beenhakker may think otherwise and opt for a keeper who plays regularly such as Warner, instead of Ince, who is struggling for a place with Coventry City, or maybe even first-choice Jack, who is injured.
