CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh most improved player for 2006 Jason Marcano still holds the confidence of being a member of the ‘Soca Warriors’ after the Digicel Caribbean Cup.
Marcano was one of the twelve Jabloteh players originally barred by their Club from training with the Trinidad and Tobago national team for the Digicel Caribbean Cup to be played off in Trinidad in the month of January.
Today the 23 year old midfielder admits his disappointment on not being able to show off his talents up close to the national Coach Wim Rijsbergen but comes to accept the decision made by his Club.
Speaking with ‘ttproleague.com’ on the issue Marcano said, “I’m in the middle, I am disappointed of not being able to train with the national team. To make the national senior team has always been part of my football plans.”
“I am not for one minute going to think my chance is gone, because of my Club’s decision to pull me from the training. There is the Gold Cup and I am looking forward to that in my aim to be part of the World Cup 2010 team which is my dream,” said the soft spoken player.
The talented San Juan Jabloteh player represented Trinidad and Tobago at youth levels in the past.
As to the Club’s decision to pull him and his colleagues from national training, the 2006 Jabloteh most improved player said, “We have important matches ahead in the CFU Club Championships and as much as we want to represent our national team, we have commitments to those who pay our salaries.”
“Last season when key players were out of the team during the World Cup period on national duties we (Jabloteh) had a poor run of matches and that supports the reason why we didn’t win the League,” responded the 2006 November Pro League player of the month.
Marcano who played a major role in Jabloteh winning the 2006 Lucozade Sport Big Six title is presently focusing on Club football saying, “I am now focusing on Jabloteh with the Club Championship and maybe the option of going on trials before the start of the 2007 season,” ended Marcano.
CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh faces Haitian club Baltimore Sportif in the semifinals of the CFU Club Championship at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium on Friday 26th January 12, 2007.
