T&T Soca Warriors will come up against Guyana, St Kitts & Nevis and Antigua & Barbuda in the Group H Second Round of the 2008 Digicel Caribbean Football Championship from November 5 to 9 here in Port-of-Spain.
Barbados topped the group with maximum six points and will join hosts Cuba, the Netherlands Antilles and Surname in Group G of second-round qualifying.
The remaining pool (Group F) comprises Martinique, Cayman Islands, Grenada and hosts Guadeloupe.
Goals by Jonathan Straker, Barry Skeete and Jeffrey Williams propelled Barbados to their win at Warner Park on Sunday night.
George Isaac gave St Kitts and Nevis the lead in the 13th minute, but was sent off in the 67th minute for a reckless foul on Bryan Neblett, forcing the home side to play the final 23 minutes with 10 men.
Straker had equalised for Barbados in the 35th minute and Skeete put them ahead in the 45th.
Williams, who had the first Barbados goal in Friday’s 2-1 victory over the British Virgin Islands, gave Barbados insurance in the 85th minute.
The Group F matches in Guadeloupe will be played from October 11-15, Group G in Cuba is set for October 23-27.
Two teams from each second-round group will advance to the Digicel Caribbean Championship finals in December along with two automatic qualifiers — defending champions Haiti and hosts Jamaica, who are the seeded teams in the final.
Four teams from the finals qualify for next year’s Concacaf Gold Cup. The eight-team finals are scheduled for Jamaica from December 3-14.
The champions will earn a first prize of US$120,000. The runners-up pocket US$70,000 while US$50 000 goes to the third place team and US$30,000 for fourth position. The top four countries will also advance to next year’s Concacaf Gold Cup in the USA.
