From right: Atlentico Platense midfielder Braian Robert being marked by T&T's Clyde Leon.Cornell Glen and Errol Mc Farlane scored a goal each as Trinidad and Tobago drew 2-2 with Atletico Platense to stay unbeaten in their fourth match of their tour of Argentina yesterday.
Coach Francisco Maturana gave Glen his first start for the tour and the speedy forward duly obliged with his fourth consecutive goal of the World Cup preparation games.

Glen hit a powerful right footer from the left side of the penalty box past the hapless Platense goalkeeper to put TT ahead in the tenth minute.

Glen’s pace proved to be more than a handful for the Platense defenders and it was his initial effort that led to TT’s second goal.

The Jabloteh striker hit a thunderous shot that the Platense goalkeeper could only parry to the burly Mc Farlane, one of six changes at the half, who made no mistake in doubling the advantage in the 52nd.

But the Soca Warriors were unable to hold on to the lead as the second-half substitutes struggled to get into the rhythm of the game. Platense pulled one back in the 61st through Fennondo Riconi and found the equaliser in the 75th after TT conceded a penalty. Mouricio Hanuch stepped up for the spot kick and blasted past the TT goalie to make it 2- 2.

Coach Maturana and his assistant Russell Latapy will no doubt be contemplating a role for Glen in their 2010 final round World Cup qualifier against El Salvador on February 11. The TT squad will head to El Salvador on Wednesday and will be joined by the overseas pros on February 8.
