President shakes Latapy hand.Trinidad and Tobago’s Senior footballers will look to rebound from a series of three disappointing performances with as much as five international friendlies scheduled for over the next month both at home and abroad.

Following a meeting with the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation technical committee led by technical adviser Keith Look Loy and the technical staff of the Men’s Senior team spearheaded by Russell Latapy on Wednesday morning.

It was revealed that the team will leave later this week for a friendly in Antigua against that country’s senior team on Sunday September 19 followed by another against St Lucia at the same venue two days later on September 21.

T&T will then travel to face Guyana on September 26 in Guyana before returning home for a friendly against a yet to be determined opponent on October 6.

The “Soca Warriors” will then travel to Kingston for the return clash with Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz on October 10. Following that T&T will return home to contest the qualifying group stage of the 2010 Digicel Caribbean Cup.

Team manager David Muhammad explained that Wednesday’s meeting was held to discuss the recent program of the team and to reevaluate the upcoming program.

“The technical committee of the TTFF along with senior Head Coach Russell Latapy met this morning to discuss and re-evaluate the national team training schedule and agenda from now up until December 2010.

It was agreed upon that it will be in the best interest of the national team to remain consistent and focused on our immediate mission at hand which is qualification for the Gold Cup via finishing in the first four at the Digicel Caribbean Cup, and of course in order for this to happen we must be successful in our preliminary qualifiers to be held on November 2nd, 4th and 6th,” Muhammad told TTFF Media.

Muhammad added that Latapy will continue to monitor the progress of home-based and overseas-based players in relation to those who are available to the country for the Digicel Caribbean Cup campaign.

He also added that the door remains open to eligible players and currently no player should consider himself having a fixed spot on the National Men’s Senior Team of Trinidad and Tobago.

Muhammad, on behalf of the Men's senior team also congratulated the T&T Women's Under 17 team for their brave efforts and inspiring performances during the FIFA Under 17 Women's World Cup, urging them to continue believing in their capabilities and to strive for more success by representing the country with the same amount of pride and passion in the future as they did during their time at the Finals.
