THE goal scored against Jamaica by T&T striker Nigel Pierre in the Digicel Caribbean Cup encounter, was largely tipped to be given the Goal of the Tournament vote.
The Warriors finished third, clinching a spot in the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
Pierre who missed the two other matches against Cuba and Barbados due to an eye injury, scored a beauty in the 37th minute.
He took the ball down and shot clinically in almost one motion. His goal was the talking point among several of the fans and also the players.
Lester Mores half -line strike against T&T and Barbados Norman Forde bullet against the Warriors, were also up there , but Pierres strike seemed more likely to take the award, if there was one, and Digicel will now be looking to have such an award the accolades for the Finals in 2007.
Meantime, while many pounded the performance of T&T goalkeeper Duarance Williams, particularly for giving up the bizarre first goal against Cuba, the towering custodian brought off several impressive stops and was in fact a nominee for the Most Valuable Player award.
The award eventually went to Jamaican skipper Andy Williams.
