Jablotehs striker Nigel Pistol Pierre has fully recovered from his recent eye injury, which he sustained in the first match of the final round of the Digicel Cup against the Reggae Boys of Jamaica.
Pierre is back in training with the national team as the road to Germany 2006 continues.
The talented striker scored arguably one of the best goals of the recently concluded Digicel Cupagainst the Jamaicans when he collected an aerial pass, executed a beautiful piece of ball control and expertly volleyed it past the Jamaican goal keeper.
However, that was his lone goal in the final round of the tournament, as he took no further part after he clashed with a Jamaican defender and damaged his right eye, as it was badly swollen.
He was ordered by the doctors to rest, but thankfully there was no fractureand he is now back and ready to resume where he left off.
Pierre told ttproleague.com after he trained with the National Team at the Larry Gomes Stadium on Monday evening, the eye is feeling fine, there is no more pain, the swelling has gone down and I am happy to be back.
Commenting on the much talked about goal he scored for Trinidad and Tobago against Jamaicathe modest Jabloteh marksman said, it was just another goal, I am thankful I was able to put away the opportunity, and added it did feel good.
Pierre will be eager to continue showing his goal scoring ability in the upcoming friendly internationals being planned by the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation ahead of this countrys World Cup qualifying clash with Guatemala on march 27th 2005 in Guatemala City.
