Reigning champions Vessigny Secondary inflicted an 8-1 beatdown on Pleasantville Secondary to march into the final of the South Zone BGTT/First Citizens Secondary Schoolgirls Football League, yesterday.

In the resheduled match which would determine the other finalist, Vessigny made light work of Pleasantville which it defeated twice in league action this season, with a combined aggregate of 8-0.

Jayrich Ferguson, Khadidra Debisette and Teneisha Cobham scored a double each, while Deja Lam and Khadidra Debisette got the other goals for Vessigny. Pleasantville Secondary got its only goal from Jenna John. With the win, Vessigny will now meet league winner Debe Secondary, on Thursday at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium, in the South final. Debe emerged 2-0 winners over Point Fortin East in the other semifinal, on Sunday.
 
Trinidad finalist St Francois took a spot in Thursday’s North/East semifinal after dropping El Dorado 1-0. They will meet San Juan North, while Providence takes on the winner of the match between the league top team this season, St Augustine Secondary and Bishop’s Secondary.
 
In Tobago, Scarborough took a spot kick win (4-3) over Signal Hill after the two teams played to a 2-2 draw at full time. They meet Bishops, which eased past Mason Hall 3-0 in the other semifinal. The final will take place on Thursday at the Dwight Yorke Stadium.
