It’s win or go home as the girls’ Intercol competition kicks off today with matches scheduled in each of the five zones of the Shell/First Citizens Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) at a number of venues across T&T.
Over in Tobago, Bishop High School and Pentecostal Light & Life will be in action first when they face off at Plymouth from 2 pm. The winner will advance to the semi-finals on Wednesday, to meet the victor between Scarborough Secondary meets Mason Hall at Black Rock, 3 pm.
In the other match carded for this afternoon, Speyside High School plays Goodwood Secondary at St George recreation ground at 3 pm and the victor will meet Signal Hill, which is on a bye this evening, in the other semi-final match.
Back in Trinidad, there are two matches scheduled in the North and Central zones and one each in South and East.
In the North while Tranquility and Bishop Anstey are on byes, St Joseph’s Convent will host St Francois Girls and Success Laventille travels to Diego Martin Central. Both matches start at 3.30 pm.
At a double-header carded at Carapichaima in the Central Zone, Chaguanas North takes on Miracle Ministries from 1.30 pm and later from 3.30 pm host Carapichaima East plays Waterloo Secondary.
In the East, San Juan North and St George’s College will battle to earn a spot in the semifinals against St Augustine Secondary on Thursday. The other semifinal will be between Bishop Anstey East and Valencia Secondary.
Down South at Mahaica Oval in Point Fortin East hosts San Fernando East from 3.30 pm with either teams hoping for victory to progress to the next round to meet Penal Secondary.
