The girls of Roxborough Secondary will be shooting for revenge against national InterCol champion, Debe High in the Girls Big Four final today at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo from 3 pm.

Debe edged Roxborough 1-0 on Tuesday to take its third consecutive National InterCol title and will be going for its third Big Four trophy. National U-17 midfielder, Kayla Taylor scored Debe’s lone goal in the seventh minute.

Speaking ahead of the match, Roxborough coach, Anslem Robley explained that after Tuesday’s final, he is now aware of Debe’s weaknesses and will look to exploit them as much as possible.

Robley believes that Taylor will be his team’s biggest challenge, as the petite trickster’s fancy footwork easily got her behind the Roxborough defence and one on one with goal keeper Shanice Sylvester on a number of occasions.

Sylvester however, did well to keep the 15-year-old out. “We know we need to strengthen our marking on Kayla (Taylor), because it seems like without her, nobody else will score, so we will work on holding her a little longer today,” he said.

Robley said his players were obviously intimidated by the significance of the final but hopes that they can settle down and play better football.

Debe and national U-17 goal keeper, Linfah Jones is not the least worried about her opponents today and is confident that Debe will repeat its success. “I’m very confident. From the last match it was obvious that we were the better team as we pressured them more than they did us,” she said.
