ADRIAN MILLETTE scored twice to guide defending North Zone Intercol champions St Anthony’s to a comfortable 4-1 win over St Mary’s yesterday, in the second game of a semi-final double-header at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo.

And St Anthony’s, who have won all their games this season, will battle Mucurapo in Monday’s North final at the aforementioned venue. Millette broke the deadlock in the 13th minute, racing past two defenders before driving home a left-footer past St Mary’s goalkeeper Raheem Belgrave.

The strike pair of Millette and Darryl Trim combined for St Anthony’s second goal in the 18th – Trim made a run on the left and squared to Millette who slotted home a right-footer from five metres out. St Mary’s conceded their third item in the 40th – with Moriba Ballah meeting a diagonal ball from Raychard Allen on the right and slotting his right-footer past the stranded Belgrave.

And, on the stroke of half-time, Allen got his name on the score-sheet to put the match beyond the reach of St Mary’s. But Rashad Hyacinth pulled one back for St Mary’s in the 79th, with a penalty which sent goalkeeper Jammal Francois the wrong way, after Johnathan Cruickshank was sent off for a deliberate hand-ball in the six-yard box.

Earlier at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo needed kicks from the penalty spot to oust Fatima 4-3, after the scores were locked at 1-1 at the end of regulation time. Kevin Lewis had given Mucurapo a 31st minute lead before Arvin Prescod evened up the scores in the 43rd.

But Mucurapo held their nerves in the penalty shootout to progress to the final. In the Central Zone, Carapichaima and Couva both advanced to tomorrow’s final with comfortable semi-final victories over Presentation Chaguanas and Gasparillo respectively at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Balmain.

Carapichaima, the reigning Central Intercol winners, whipped Presentation Chaguanas 3-0 with Denzil Gill (58th), Shaquille Holder (67th) and Yaseem Rivas (70th) on target.

Couva eliminated Gasparillo 4-1 in the latter game at Balmain. Jaffet Williams (57th and 86th) netted a double for the winners, while Kendell Benjamin (third) and Jerome Lewis (65th) added one apiece. Kristoff Alexander (21st) got the consolation for Gasparillo. Today, the attention will focus on the Zonal finals, in the South and Tobago Zones.

In the South decider, scheduled for 4 pm at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium in Marabella, Presentation San Fernando will oppose Shiva Boys. An hour later, at the Dwight Yorke Stadium in Bacolet, Signal Hill will be putting their title on the line when they face old foes Scarborough.
