St Mary’s College and Presentation College San Fernando wrapped up the Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) North Zone and South Zone titles respectively yesterday on the final day of league action.

St Mary’s pummelled the cellar-positioned Malick 7-1 to lift their title, while Presentation College San Fernando also comfortably dismissed the challenge of Princes Town Secondary 4-1 to clinch the South crown.

Already, the Central Zone (Chaguanas North), Tobago Zone (Speyside Secondary) and East Zone’s (St Augustine) league titles had been decided in the penultimate round of matches on Saturday.

The only two available spots for Central in next year’s SSFL Premier League have gone to Chaguanas North and Carapichaima East. The North, South and East Zones are allotted four spots, while Tobago has decided not to field clubs just yet in the Premier League competition.

The four spots in the North have gone to St Mary’s, St Anthony’s, East Mucurapo and Fatima, which sit first to fourth in the standings, respectively. In the East, St Augustine, El Dorado West, Arima North and Trinity East qualify in that order while down South, Presentation, Naparima, St Benedict’s and Shiva Boys occupy the top four spots respectively for the 2014 Premier League.
