ST MARY’S and Trinity East will oppose each other in the opening match of the Premier Division of the 2015 Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) today.
Five matches are on the cards tomorrow, all starting at 3.45 pm.
Speyside will host Carapichaima; Trinity North will entertain St Benedict’s at Moka in Maraval; San Juan North will tackle St Anthony’s at Bourg Mulatresse in San Juan; St Augustine will make the long drive to Penal to face Shiva Boys; Presentation San Fernando will meet Fatima at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium in Marabella.
And Fyzabad will be on a bye.
Last year, 14 teams featured in the Premier League. However East Mucurapo, Arima North and Chaguanas North, the last three teams in the 2014 standings, were demoted to their respective Championship Divisions while Fyzabad, QRC and Trinity North advanced to the Premier Division, after taking the top three positions in the 2014 Championship Division playoffs.
In related news, according to the season’s fixtures, the Coca Cola Intercol will get going with the Zonal section on November 2, while the National Intercol event will run from November 23-30.
