Experience of a lifetime

Queen's Royal College star midfielder John Paul Rochford, among two other local teenaged footballers, is currently at a training camp at the Manchester City Football Club in England which started a week ago.

The Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) is well-represented in the ongoing Manchester City youth football camp, as three Trinidadians Elijah Shade, Tyrel Emmanuel and John Paul Rochford were chosen among eight other outstanding athletes in the Digicel Kickstart Academy held in Sabina Park, Jamaica, last October.

Rochford was the main attraction in the QRC midfield in last year's SSFL, using his elusive feints, slide-rule passes and fearsome long-range shots to terrorise opposition defences all season in the league and InterCol. His most outstanding performance came in the clash against St Mary's College—a match many fans of schools football have dubbed "The Clasico"
