SCARBOROUGH SECONDARY will have to wait to claim the Tobago Zone title of British Gas Secondary Schools Football League.
The Scarborough boys were held to a thrilling 1-1 draw by arch-rivals Signal Hill in the second match of a double-header at Shaw Park yesterday.

When the teams met in Round One, Scarborough won 3-1 and failed to make it two-in-a-row over old foes. In fact, Scarborough should thank Dame Fortune for salvaging a point as Signal Hill struck first through Stephen Walters in the 70th minute.

Trevon James got the vital equaliser for the league leaders eight minutes from time when his shot from an acute angle squeezed through the legs of Signal Hill’s goalkeeper.

The draw brought Scarborough’s 100 per cent record to an end as the team had won all five earlier matches. The team must now wait until Tuesday for a victory over Roxborough to clinch the title.

Roxborough also had to settle for a point in a match against Bishop’s.

Kiel Martin gave Roxborough the lead after just five minutes and the team seemed to be heading for victory until Alden Daniel drew Bishop’s level in the 82nd minute.
