Carapichaima went on a second half splurge to whip Waterloo 4-0 at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva yesterday, and retain the RBTT Central Zone Intercol title.
After Woodroofe scored his and Carapichaima’s second in the 63rd, the fight was knocked out of the youthful Waterloo team. Phillip Wickham lashed in the first of his double in the 70th minute to increase the lead to 3-0. And in the 85th he made it very safe for Carapichaima when he knocked in his team’s fourth.
In the sister-isle Tobago, Signal Hill knocked off holders Scarborough 3-1 at the Dwight Yorke Stadium, Bacolet, to reclaim the zonal Intercol title. The “Hill Boys” fell behind as early as the 4th minute when Scarborough were awarded a penalty which Kersyl Vincent slotted in.
But Anderson Taylor got the equalising goal in the 17th minute and Simon Anton put Signal Hill in the lead with a 27th minute goal. Taylor got his second goal in the 50th minute to seal the victory for Signal Hill to give them the trophy.
