Despite the unavailability of the Larry Gomes, Hasely Crawford and the Mannie Ramjohn Stadia, the 2010 Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) Coca-Cola Zonal Intercol competition will kick off today with action in the East and North Zones.
Defending North Zone champion Queen’s Royal College (QRC), who placed third in the league, will hope to get past Fatima for a second time this season when the two teams meet at St Anthony’s ground from 3.45 pm today.
Over at the Fatima ground, last year’s zonal beaten finalist St Mary’s College, will open their campaign against Malick from 3.45 pm.
CIC eased to a 3–0 win when the two teams met in the league, and will be fancying their chances of getting into the semifinal.
Meanwhile, Arima North, the East Zone league runners-up, will start their campaign against Barataria South Secondary who were winless in the league from 3 pm at the San Juan Secondary ground.
The other match pits San Juan, which placed second in the league, against Toco at the St Augustine ground from 5 pm.
