Kiel Ribiero registered the first hat-trick of the 2011 BG T&T Secondary Schools Football League season to lead Princes Town West to a comprehensive 4-1 whipping of visitors Vessigny in the South Zone, yesterday.

Ribiero opened the scoring as early as the third minute at the Pt D’or ground, La Brea which his team took into the half-time interval.

Ten minutes into the second-half, Ribiero doubled the advantage before Vessigny sliced the lead in the half via a 78th minute item from Micahael Daniel.

Any hopes Vessigny had of stealing a point were dashed four minutes later when Devon Molino made it 3-1 in favour  before Ribiero completed his hat-trick.

Pleasantville and Presentation College of San Fernando both won on Wednesday at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella. National Under-17 stand-out Shackiel Henry netted a first-half double to lead Presentation past St Benedict’s College, 3-2 in the second match of the double-header.

Henry netted a first-half double for Presentation to lead 2-0 against his former school, before Adenkine Caesar pulled one back for St Benedict’s to trail 3-2 at the interval.

Ten minutes into the second-half, Yafeu Rougier, the nephew of former national captain, Anthony Rougier, drew St Benedict’s level, however with 15 minutes left in the contest, Angel Williams banged home the decisive item. In the opener at Marabella, Pleasantville pulled off a 2-1 triumph over defending zonal champions, Naparima.

Four minutes before half-time, Keon Thomas put Pleasantville ahead and that lead seemed to be holding out until the second minute of time added on, when Aaron Dass netted what looked a share of the points for Naparima.

However, the match still had another twist as Pleasantville surged upfield and snatched a late winner thanks to Timothy Pierre. In yesterday’s other match, host Trinity registered an entertaining 4-3 triumph over Fatima at Moka after trailing 2-1 at the half.

Also on Wednesday, North Zone league champions St Anthony’s kicked off its zonal defence with a 3-0 shutout of St Mary’s College. Moriba Ballah fired the “Westmooring Tigers” into a 29th minute advantage while former Signal Hill student Darryl Trim and Jamali Garcia—from the penalty-spot—also netted.
