Three different players were on target as lowly Leeds United denied Roxborough Lakers from opening a lead at the top of the Tobago Football Association Premier Division standings with a 3-1 upset win at Canaan Ground, Bon Accord on Thursday.
The trio of Kelvon Morris, Valton Brathwaite and Akini James were the scorers to cancel out Jamaican Duran Dilworth’s lone item for Lakers.
Despite the loss, Lakers stayed top of the 12-team standings with 32 points from 15 matches, the same as Bethel United which has a match in hand while Mason Hall USSS and Georgia FC are next with 31 and 27 points, respectively from 15 matches each.
Meanwhile, the First Division Big Eight competition kicked off on the weekend, with wins for HV Milan, Hills United, Signal Hill United and Golden Lane over Mt Grace, Moriah Youths, Goodwood and Earlbrokes, respectively. Northside, Charlotteville Unifiers, Black Rock, Carnbee/Mt Pleasant and Mason Hall PYC are involved in a round-of-five series.
