Trinidad and Tobago’s Women strutted around with their scoring boots on in the second half of Friday night’s CFU Women’s Challenge Series, scoring seven unanswered goals in an 8-1 thumping of Grenada in their second encounter at the Ato Boldon Stadium.

Young Aaliyah Prince came off the bench in the second half to notch a hattrick to lead the Women Warriors to the resounding victory. Prince netted in the 65th, 79th and 84th minutes after both teams were tied 1-1 at half time. Karyn Forbes put the hosts ahead in the 12th minute but Grenada hit back after a T&T lapse at the back, with Kristal Julien putting the ball into an unprotected net in the 16th minute.

Head Coach Jamaal Shabazz, later admitted in the post-match press briefing that he had to shake his players up at half time with some stern words and it seemed to have worked for skipper Tasha St Louis and her teammates.

Natasha St Louis put T&T 2-1 ahead in the 46th and Liana Hinds converted in the 63rd. St Louis got her second item on 69 minutes as T&T pulled away from their opponents who had no answer in the second half. Prince went on to get her hattrick and Forbes finished things off with a goal from way out on the left in the 91st minute.

Guyana and Suriname played to a 2-2 draw in the first match, leaving T&T atop the Group with six points. T&T meets Guyana from 5:30pm on Sunday in Couva following the 3pm kick off between Grenada and Suriname.
