Trinidad and Tobago’s Under 17 women’s team commenced the final round of Caribbean Football Union World Cup qualifying action in fine style with a 10-0 rout of Grenada at the Silvio Cator Stadium in Port-au-Prince, Haiti on Saturday.

Five goals were scored by Zoe Swift in the first half while Chevonne John scored two with headers another two from Corel Carmichael and one from Shanelle Arjoon.

T&T are attempting to book a place in the final Concacaf Round in Jamaica towards the 2014 Fifa Under 17 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica.

Head coach Marlon Charles was satisfied with the team’s showing but wants an equally good showing when T&T faces Bermuda today.

“It was a good way for us to start the round. We took control of the match from the onset and we executed well. We took our chances and we ever allowed the opponent to stand a chance against us,” Charles said.

“All in all I was satisfied with the performance but the tournament can get harder from here on. Monday’s game against Bermuda could end up determining the group winners and Bermuda will not come and make it easy for us.

We will have to come with another strong showing but I am expecting us to take it to the opponents once again,” Charles added.
