Khara JohnKHARA MICHELLE JOHN began playing soccer at age 3. Naturally talented and very focused, she soon developed a “good kick” which led her to become the top goal scorer for her club team Jackson Destiny, where for 8 years, she played in the positions of Striker, Right Wing and Right Midfielder. Jackson Destiny emerged as the U15 US Club State Champs in 2008.

Khara Michelle, who has lived all of her 15 years in Jackson, New Jersey, USA, is the daughter of Kim and Sherwin John, and the grand-daughter of the late Arthur C. John (who was honoured posthumously for his contribution to football administration in Trinidad and Tobago). Khara has always wanted the opportunity to try out for a spot on the national team and this became a reality when Team Manager Jinelle James and the coaching staff invited her to Trinidad to train with the Trinidad and Tobago Women’s National U-17 Team from Friday 6th – Wednesday 11th March, 2009, while she was enjoying a break from her studies. She has also been invited to join the team at a High Performance Camp scheduled to run from March 21-30, 2009.

While attending Jackson Liberty High School, Khara was the starting striker for the Varsity Girls’ Soccer team, and highest scorer to date. Presently a 10th Grader on scholarship at the Lawrenceville School, which is ranked the 14th best school in the USA, she alternates between striker and RW for the Lawrenceville Varsity Girls Soccer team.

Khara has been able to achieve numerous individual accomplishments to date which makes her a tremendous asset to her team. These include:
