Group B action continued today in the Caribbean Football Union Women's Under 20 Finals underway here with Trinidad and Tobago being held to a draw by St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Jamaica defeating Curaçao 2-0. The Trinidad and Tobago vs. St. Vincent and the Grenadines game ended 1-1.
The Soca Princesses went ahead in the 21st minute when Kelsey Henry scored a close-range header after receiving a cross from her right side. Although being a goal up, Trinidad and Tobago never looked the dominant side as the Vincentian women continued to show great levels of energy after going a goal down.
St. Vincent’s hard work would pay off. After being fouled just in front of the 18-yard box, Chrislyn Browne equalized from a direct, curling free kick in the 32nd, minute making it 1-1 at halftime. Trinidad and Tobago would have better spells of possession in the second half, but they failed to capitalize on their chances.
St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ energy and good defensive organization paid off, as they were able to keep the score at 1-1.
