Former title-holders, Valtrin United and Carib FC both made winning starts when the 2013/2014 edition of the Eastern Football Association (EFA) Premier Division kicked off on weekend last.
Valtrin got a 67th minute striker from former EFA “Player of then Year” Dwight Crichlow in its hard fought 1-0 win over Tunapuna Titans while Darien Gill (29th), David Gill (58th) and Kerron Edwards (75th) were all on target for Carib in a come-from-behind 3-1 defeat of Boss FC which went ahead in the 10th minute through Kevon Guy.
The three other Premier Division matches played, all ended in a share of points with St John’s and Joe Public drawing 2-2; Maloney and WASA drawing blanks and Prisons and SKHY battling to a 1-1 deadlock.
In the First Division, BM Spurs hammered Eastern Alliance 6-0 with six different players on target.
House of Dread and Arima Arawak Combined FC also won their matches, 2-0 and 2-1 over Malta Carib FC and Sparta TT, respectively. Matches continues this weekend in the First Division and Premiership from 4.15 pm daily.
