Kevon Cornwall netted a double as Fire Service held off CENGEM Harlem Strikers 3-2 to remain perfect after two matches in the Central Football Association Premier Division at Frederick Settlement on Recreation Ground on Saturday.

Cornwall fired his team ahead in the 12th minute and veteran midfielder Handel Manswell doubled the advantage four minutes for Fire Service to lead 2-0 at the interval.

Cornwall then extended the lead to 3-0 in the 56th minute before Strikers mounted a fight-back with Robbie Sookhai (70th) and Keron Fox (86th) scoring to cut the deficit to one.

However, it was too late as Fire Service held on for the win to carry its points tally to maximum six after two matches two more than Central Soccer World which battled to a 1-1 draw with Perseverance Ball Runners at New Settlement Recreation Ground on Thursday.

In Thursday’s first match, Arkido Agard, Akil London and Malcolm Nedd were all on target for Perseverance United in a 3-0 blanking of Carapichaima Playmakers while Enterprise Youths slipped past Inter-National Connection 2-1 on Friday at Edinburgh 500 Recreation Ground thanks to a double from Dwayne Leon.

The win saw Enterprise Youths join Perseverance United, Leeds FC and Harlem Srikers all with three points, but United and Leeds have only played one match.
