Businessman Shymdeo Gosine has been returned as president of the Central Football Association (CFA) for another four-year term.

At the association's Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Election of Officers at the office of Woodford Lodge in Chaguanas on May 14, Gosine who was instrumental in raising the prize structure in the top flight CFA League competition, got the nod ahead of his challenger Christopher Regis 12-8, while Wendell Collymore, Allan Logan and David Ramkallawan prevailed by similar 12-8 margins.

Gosine said his goal for his new term is to grow the sport from the elementary to the senior level, and probably produce players for the national teams from the central area.

"This year we have 14 clubs at the top flight competition and we want to take it to 24 by next year. We will also work hard on elementary football by targeting young players at the Primary Schools. We will also hold coaching courses to improve the ability of the coaches in the central area and will work with referees to ensure they are comfortable with their stipend," Gosine told Guardian Media Sports.

Gosine's first order of business will be to propose the return of his hard-working general secretary Clynt Taylor and to hold meetings with his executives ahead of the start of the new season.

Fourteen members presented themselves for seven positions and at the end, Gosine received another four-year term, along with his first and second vice presidents Collymore and Logan, both of whom defeated Brent De Vertuil and Philmore George respectively.

Ramkallawan, on the other hand, was also given the opportunity to serve for a second time as assistant secretary operations at the expense of Shalisha Khan.

Gosine, however, will have three new members on his executive- Keisha Lewis-Noel, Wilfred Edwards and Gregory Mc Sween, the Harlem Strikers manager who has been at the heart of football development in the central.

Lewis-Noel comes in as a replacement for Jimmy Henry as assistant secretary administration, while Edwards takes over from Anthony Jobe who resigned last two years ago.

Mc Sween, on the other hand, replaces Raymond Superville as an ordinary member. Superville was ousted after he breached the association's constitution by missing more than four Board meetings.
