Midfielder Sean De Silva was last month named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-South Region Teams, as announced by the NolleSCAA.
De Silva and teammate at College of Charlston Daan Brinkman were recognised for their outstanding efforts for the team in 2012.
“I’m so pleased that our program had two nominations for this prestigious list of players,” said head coach Ralph Lundy who was a scout at the CFU Under-20 final round in Jamaica in November and is currently eying one T&T Under-20 national player.
“Both of these young men deserved to be recognised on this level. Sean de Silva was our captain and leader in many ways, while Daan Brinkman was a solid defender all year long,” Lundy added.
De Silva, an NSCAA All-South second-team selection, was a consistent figure in the Cougars attack. He started in all 19 matches as well and was the Cougars’ most consistent offensive figure, posting team highs in goals and assists with seven and five.
