Cole Dawley of the volleyball team and men's soccer player Sean de Silva have been named the College of Charleston Student Athletes of the Week for the period ending October 5th.
Against Georgia Southern, Dawley posted a match-high 35 assists with five digs and four blocks. Against Davidson, she finished with 32 assists, three kills, two service aces, seven digs and a block to pace the Cougars.
The Cougars return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 8th, when they take on The Citadel on the road. The match is set to start at 7 p.m.
de Silva, a freshman midfielder from Port of Spain, Trinidad, scored the first two goals of his collegiate career in the Cougars 3-0 win over Davidson on Oct. 4th.
His two scores came within minutes of each other, as he netted his first goal in the last minute of the first half, then his second score in the first two minutes of the second half to lead the Cougars to their first Southern Conference win of the season.
The Cougars return to action on Saturday, Oct. 11 when they travel to Elon to continue Southern Conference play. The match is set to start at 7 p.m.
