The Milligan College men's soccer team overcame AAC opponent Tennessee Wesleyan College 3-2 Saturday, battling back from a two-goal deficit. This win brings the Buffs' conference record to 4-1.

The Bulldogs scored their goals early. However, Junior Joel Cowan (Mt. Grace, Trinidad and Tobago) began the Buffs' rally in the 29th minute with a follow-up on a shot from senior Josh Stephens (Jacksonville Beach, Fla.) . The Bulldogs' keeper bobbled the ball, leaving Cowan with the opportunity to make the goal. Cowan scored a minute later unassisted, tying the game.

The Buffs, who out-shot the Bulldogs 19-10, did not score the final goal until the 84th minute. Junior Josh Scott (London, England) was responsible for the game-winner.

“It's definitely a positive that we have the heart to keep playing when we're down,” said Head Coach Adam Laney. “I felt like we played well, but we've got to find a way to keep teams from getting ahead of us.”

The Buffs play at home Saturday, Oct. 18, against Bryan College. The match starts at 7 p.m.
