Renato Ramlochan became the third Newman University men’s soccer player to earn a Heartland Conference Player of the Week award this year, when he was honored for the week of Nov. 4.

Ramlochan scored both goals in Newman’s 2-1 overtime upset of Incarnate Word, then the first place team in the Heartland Conference.  The goals were his first two of the season.

The Newman junior shared this week’s honor with Patrick Miller from St. Edward’s.  Miller helped SEU leapfrog UIW for the top spot in the conference, with the help of Newman’s big win over the Cardinals of course.  He scored two goals and assisted on another for the week.

Brian Alvarez (Oct. 7) and Will Peppard (Sept. 8) were the other two Jets to pick up Heartland Conference Player of the Week awards this year.

The Jets conclude the regular season Sunday with a 1 p.m. match at Incarnate Word.
