Cion Samuel's first goal of the season spotted Newman a 1-0 lead early in the first half, but Texas A&M International rallied for a 4-1 win Friday night at Dustdevil Field in Laredo, Texas.

The Jets struck first at the 18:35 when Cion Samuel had a ball deflected to him, and shot from 23 yards out. TAMIU keeper Luis Rincon couldn't get a handle on the ball, and Samuel was awarded his first goal of the season, and gave Newman a 1-0 advantage.

Newman held the lead throughout the majority of the remainder of the half, but in the final minute TAMIU's Abdiel Amador tapped a pass past NU keeper James Esquivel and into the back of the net to knot the game at 1-1 with 21 seconds left in the half.

The Dustdevils ran the show offensively in the second half, out-shooting the Jets 13-5, and scoring three goals on the way to a 4-1 win, their first of the season.

Newman will have to regroup quickly. They will be back in action Sunday when they make a stop in San Antonio to take on St. Mary's in a 1 p.m. contest.
